PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Create and execute a comprehensive plan for acquiring and retaining members to optimize revenue for Optica.
  • Identify key sales territories and prospects to meet membership targets in partnership with stakeholders.
  • Promote and sell products/services/memberships to current and potential customers.
  • Manage membership communications, including mailings, emails, and newsletters.
  • Monitor and analyze renewal campaigns and member surveys to drive recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with external partners for distribution and oversee membership kit fulfillment.
  • Lead member onboarding and maintain up-to-date content on websites.

MEMBERSHIP & CUSTOMER ENGAGEMENT:

  • Supervise customer service operations and ensure timely reporting.
  • Develop and execute promotional campaigns to enhance member engagement and product visibility.
  • Collaborate on research initiatives to enhance member value and engagement.

MEMBERSHIP SPONSORSHIPS & PROGRAM:

  • Establish a program for non-revenue dues, including corporate sponsorships.
  • Support strategic planning for the Optica career center sustainability.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Required: Bachelor's degree and graphic design experience/coursework.
  • Minimum 5 years of graphic design experience, particularly in magazine production.
  • Proficiency in four-color printing and direct marketing best practices.

SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

  • Experience in managing email and direct mail marketing campaigns for sales.
  • Proficient in prospect development, member acquisition & retention, and member engagement.
  • Strong organizational and independent work skills with a preference for science.
  • Must excel in English writing and possess strong customer service orientation.
  • Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks and deadlines under pressure.
  • Attention to detail, effective project management, and flexibility in a fast-paced environment.
  • Occasional travel required (~5%) to support high-stakes initiatives.
  • Driven collaborator skilled in working with senior-level executives and partners effectively.
