The New York City Department of Sanitation (DSNY) is responsible for keeping the city clean and safe by managing waste collection, recycling, street cleaning, and snow removal. As the largest municipal sanitation agency in the nation, DSNY employs over 10,000 people and operates numerous district garages and a large fleet of vehicles and equipment.


Job Description

The Department of Sanitation is looking to hire a Regulatory & Administrative Codes Manager to join the Bureau of Commercial Waste. Reporting to the Compliance and Audits Manager, the successful candidate will have the opportunity to:

  • Assist in preparing notices of violations, programs, and reports.
  • Develop strategies to maintain integrity during Office of Administrative Trials and Hearings.
  • Evaluate compliance with commercial waste contract terms and regulations.
  • Ensure timely and accurate communication of violations with enforcement agents.
  • Collaborate with other agencies to ensure precise violation documentation.
  • Utilize department information systems for validation of violations.
  • Track penalties and violations for resolution.
  • Maintain a violations database and analyze information systems for accuracy.
  • Produce comprehensive reports summarizing work progress.
  • Coordinate with other city agencies as necessary.


Qualifications

To be considered for this role, you must have:

  • A master's degree in economics, finance, business/public administration, or related fields, plus at least one year of professional experience.
  • OR
  • A bachelor's degree in similar fields, along with a minimum of three years of professional experience.
