Overview:


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced individual to join our team as an Assistant Principal of Specialized Services.

As the Assistant Principal of Specialized Services, you will play a crucial role in supporting the school's mission and ensuring a positive learning environment for students.

The position is responsible for the planning, supervision, administration, and evaluation of the Richard Allen Preparatory Charter School student services and special education services.

This is a full-time position with competitive compensation and benefits.

Duties:

  • Monitors, directs, and supervises the development of educational programs for students in:
  • Special education,
  • Section 504 services
  • English as a Second Language programming
  • Psychological services,
  • Diagnostic and consultative services
  • Homebound instruction
  • Approved private schools
  • Others as assigned
  • Collaborate with and monitor psychological services (e.g. Initial Evaluations, Reevaluations, Manifestation Determinations, Functional Behavioral Assessments, Behavior Profiles).
  • Eighth to ninth grade transitions, and graduation to postschool activities.
  • Assist the Chief Executive Officer and/or Chief Academic Officer in recruitment, selection, and recommendation for hiring of any special education personnel.
  • Identifies support personnel needs and recommends Special Education staff assignments.
  • Collaborates with building administration for the observation and supervision of support staff and professionals

Skills:

  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate others
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, including public speaking
  • Experience working with students in an educational setting
  • Knowledge of education administration practices and procedures
  • Ability to manage budgets and allocate resources effectively
  • Proficient in classroom supervision techniques
  • Experience in fundraising initiatives
  • Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail
  • Represents the RAPCS at Intermediate Unit, PATTAN, PDE
  • Bureau of Special Education, agency, and approved private school sponsored events and meetings.
  • Monitors, evaluates the need for, and provides professional development for support and professional staff in student services and special education.

Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree andAdministrative Certification and/or Letter of Eligibility
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience working in education administration or related field
  • Experience in a senior leadership role is highly desirable
