Your Role
Job Summary:

The Utility Field Inspector will be responsible for various field surveying tasks, including aerial pole line data collection and underground data gathering. This role involves extensive outdoor work, requiring frequent walking. Communication with external parties and obtaining permissions for access are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collect and document pole information accurately.
  • Identify, inspect, and classify utility poles.
  • Record aerial attachment heights and clearances.
  • Perform surveys for underground cable layout.
  • Map out new construction routes effectively.
  • Maintain company vehicle and tools per safety standards.
  • Ensure job tasks are carried out safely.
  • Capture images of job sites and relevant structures.
  • Upload and edit clear images, files, and notes.
  • Produce hand-drawn sketches of engineering designs.
  • Engage with customers and landowners.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license with a good driving record.
  • Familiarity with job-related tools like Geode GNS3, GPS, etc.
  • Strong mathematical and computer skills.
  • Ability to lift items up to 80 pounds.
  • Read blueprints and maps effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Comfortable working outdoors in various conditions.

Technical Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and Google Earth.
  • Experience with Project Management software.
  • Quick to adapt and learn new systems.

Desired Skills:

  • Knowledge of telecommunications design.
  • Familiarity with Make-Ready Construction.
  • Understanding of engineering standards and techniques.
  • Degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics is a plus.
  • Prior experience in related industries is advantageous.
