Purpose and Impact:

- Supervise and monitor a team of workers, ensuring they meet agency contract goals and requirements.
- Demonstrate advanced communication, motivation, training, and evaluation skills with staff.
- Participate in recruitment, development, and performance improvement activities.
- Conduct regular case reviews, provide guidance on complex cases, and ensure quality documentation.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, attend court proceedings, and mentor case managers in the field.
- Support and guide staff development through coaching and training.
- Contribute to community education and agency quality improvement initiatives.

Essential Functions:
  • Establish performance standards and job expectations for workers.
  • Monitor compliance and review unit caseload regularly.
  • Direct day-to-day activities of case managers and provide guidance on case work.
  • Participate in staffing meetings, review complex cases, and ensure quality of work products.
  • Identify and address performance needs, conduct evaluations, and support outstanding performance.
  • Facilitate required meetings and engage in team-building activities.
  • Develop training plans, uphold confidentiality, and ensure safety and cultural sensitivity in all interactions.
Other Functions:

- Demonstrate professionalism, effective communication, and teamwork.
- Adhere to safety procedures, confidentiality rules, and training requirements.
- Be available on-call, maintain sensitivity to diverse needs, and promote a positive public image.

Physical Requirements:

- High energy, flexibility with hours, and ability to travel as needed.

Education:
  • Bachelor's degree in human services field.
  • Child Protection Certificate required.
  • Master's Degree preferred.
Experience:

- 5 to 7 years' experience as a certified child welfare case manager.
- Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience.

Skills:
  • Expertise in child protection, social work, and family assessments.
  • Strong knowledge of professional ethics, legal requirements, and management skills.
  • Effective communication, supervision, and analytical abilities.
  • Proficiency in organizing work, conducting evaluations, and supporting staff development.
  • Ability to understand and apply relevant laws, rules, and procedures.
Principal Accountabilities:
  • Report to Program Director and Assistant Program Director.
  • Collaborate with colleagues and stakeholders, ensure quality and timely submissions, and adhere to standards and policies.
