This part-time temporary position may require working early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays. Work hours may vary based on assigned duties.

Nature of Work:

Working under the guidance of the Recreation Program Supervisor, the role involves supervising participants in Parks & Recreation programs, organizing and executing various youth and adult activities, programs, and events within the department, and interacting with citizens, community organizations, and city staff to maintain a safe and inclusive environment for all involved.

Essential Duties:
  • Oversee recreation activities, programs, and events ensuring the safety of participants and staff
  • Program areas and duties include:
    • Afterschool Programs
    • Youth Day Camps
    • Youth Sports
    • Adult Sports
    • Teen Activities
    • Senior Activities
    • Community Events
  • Transport participants in department vehicles
  • Attend staff meetings
  • Maintain cleanliness of program areas
  • Perform other assigned duties
Skills and Abilities:
  • Organize and lead activities for school-age children
  • Contribute to group processes
  • Efficiently use available resources
  • Establish and maintain effective relationships
  • Communicate effectively
  • Work independently and make decisions

Minimum Qualifications:

Work Environment:

May work in various weather conditions and be exposed to chemicals. Noise levels may vary.

Physical Demands:

Requires walking, sitting, running, and lifting up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities are necessary.
