Meter Technician Position at Chesapeake Utilities Corporation

Responsibilities:

  • Accurately read and record consumption data
  • Install residential metering equipment
  • Conduct leak investigations and take appropriate action
  • Turn residential gas service on and off
  • Perform periodic meter changes
  • Maintain knowledge of customer needs and expectations
  • Report unusual circumstances in the field
  • Conduct bill investigations
  • Maintain company vehicle and equipment
  • Participate in an on-call standby rotation for emergency response

Requirements:

  • Excellent customer contact skills
  • Conscientious work ethic
  • Valid Driver License with responsible driving record
  • Strong Mechanical Aptitude
  • Normal level of visual and hearing ability

Working Environment:

  • Outdoor and customer premises work
  • Work around potentially flammable substances
