Summary:
Job Description: Early Works Construction Activities - Project Safety Advisor
The Cloud Infrastructure Land Development and Community Organization (LDC) is responsible for delivering datacenter campus sites to a condition ready for permanent works to support construction of Data Centers. The Early Works Construction Program oversees the planning, compliance, and progress of the Early Works for onsite delivery of projects with a wide variety of unique requirements favoring civil specialties including site earthworks, building demolition, environmental remediation, grading and vegetation removal, and substation pad construction.
Project Safety Advisor to support the project management team in monitoring the contractors implementation of the Site-Specific Safety Plan. All projects will involve the management of significant High-Risk Activities (HRA) both on individual sites and cumulatively across all of the project works. Primary risks will include, but not be limited to excavations, mobile equipment, vehicle traffic, material handling, lifting activities, electrical, and working from heights.
Competent contractors have been and will be appointed on the projects with responsibility for site Environment, Health, and Safety (EHS) management being retained by the appointed contractors. In addition to its statutory EHS obligations, the client expects that the highest standards of EHS management is implemented across all construction projects.
Given the scale and nature of the proposed works, Microsoft will appoint an independent Project Safety Adviser to represent Microsoft and assist the Microsoft Project Manager and Area EHS Manager in monitoring the implementation of high standards of EHS management across each construction site.
