Position Summary: This position involves providing quality patient care through diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy for interpretation and intervention while strictly following radiation safety principles.

Responsibilities: Essential Functions:

  • Performs diagnostic imaging and related procedures to demonstrate anatomy and physiology for interpretation and intervention.
  • Exercises professional judgment in service performance and maintains a demeanor that promotes quality care.
  • Delivers appropriate care by recognizing patient conditions and ensuring successful procedure completion.
  • Complies with state and federal regulations for each modality.
  • Adheres to the mission and strategic imperatives of the organization.
  • Assesses patient's physical condition and specific age-related needs.
  • Provides instructions to ensure patient cooperation and desired outcomes.
  • Performs accurate patient identification and documentation of clinical history.
  • Positions patients and equipment effectively to achieve high-quality images for interpretation.
  • Reviews diagnostic images for technical quality, proper annotation, and patient identification.
  • Applies radiation safety principles to minimize exposure.
  • Complies with Quality Control standards and tasks.
  • Demonstrates proficiency in contrast medication administration.
  • Administers medical aid as needed in adverse reactions to contrast medication or emergencies.
  • Applies standard precautions and personal protective equipment to prevent cross-contamination.
  • Assists in supervising student technologists and training new technologists.
  • Utilizes Radiology computer systems effectively and accurately.
  • Ensures customer safety.
  • Maintains regular attendance in alignment with organizational policies and standards.
  • Ensures compliance with organizational policies, department guidelines, and education requirements.
Other Related Functions:

  • Maintains cleanliness and organization of work areas and equipment.
  • Provides patient transport.
Qualifications: Education/Training: Graduate of an accredited school of Radiologic Technology.

Licensure/Certification:
  • Holds a Certified Radiologic Technologist license by the State of Florida.
  • Holds an American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification.
  • Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
