Accountant I/AR Supervisor

The Accounts Receivable/ Accountant I is responsible for accurate and timely posting of Accounts Receivable transactions, journal entries, account reconciliations, creating and running monthly financial reports, and other projects as requested.
Essential Functions & Duties
Reconciles all cash entries from previous day.
Applies all payments received at home office to customer accounts.
Researches and applies credits on customer accounts on a weekly basis following the guidelines provided.
Prepares all customer statements at the end of each month.
Sets up all new customers in Great Plains. (Making sure first that all necessary paper work has been completed.)
On a quarterly basis, reviews customer account activity and marks inactive accounts.
Reviews ABC Licenses for customers of Karl Strauss on a monthly basis and updates the files.
Prepares weekly and monthly aging reports for Controller and accounting managers review
Assesses finance charges to customer accounts and reverses as needed.
Assists customers in reconciling accounts and providing copies of invoices when requested.
Distributes and records blank Karl Strauss gift cards to all restaurant locations.
Provides Accounts Payable and Payroll backup, when needed.
Assists with answering incoming calls when needed.
Calculates and submits monthly CRV for payment.
Researches P&L pending questions.
Processes other journal entries as required.
Runs monthly financials .
Creates new reports as needed, while maintaining current reports for accuracy.
Reviews, updates, and creates policies and procedures pertaining to the position.
Completes other projects and accounting duties as requested.
Supports annual budget process.
Supports month-end accruals.
Skills
Necessary Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, business, or related field.
At minimum, three years of related Accounting and Finance experience.
Advanced level of understanding in MS Excel, Word, Outlook, and Great Plains, or other similar accounting software.
Must be detail oriented with strong customer service background.
Ten key by touch.
Hybrid role:
must be in-office at least two days per week.
