Manages the Laboratory Information System including development, maintenance, design, and documentation of software and hardware applications. Serves as a liaison between the laboratory staff and information services. Works under the direction of the Director of the Laboratory.

Qualifications:Minimum Knowledge, Skills, Experience Required
Education
Certification as a Medical Technologist from a nationally recognized credentialing agency, i.e., ASCP, HEW, or AMT.
Experience
Minimum of 4 years experience in a clinical laboratory and experience as a clinical systems analyst with demonstrated competencies in the following LIS/HIS systems training strongly preferred:
Systems fundamentals
Tables and files
Internet or advanced language coding in field of expertise
Project management and leadership
Visual C++, Visual Basic, Java (beginning knowledge of at least one equivalent language) or equivalent advanced language coding in field of expertise.
Mentoring
System development competency and responsibilities
Research on systems applications and interfacing
Fiscal responsibility
Professional affiliation/leader/certification
Customer service leadership
LIS Analyst or Administrator
Additional Skills/Abilities
Must have excellent communication skills with the ability to work in a fast paced environment, requiring prioritizing and changing tasks frequently and quickly. Must have knowledge of current standards, legislation, practices, delivery systems, documentation methods and trends in medicine.
