Responsibilities
Baker Tilly, a rapidly growing CPA advisory firm, presents an exciting career opportunity for a State & Local Tax Senior Manager. Join their expanding State & Local Tax (SALT) practice, consisting of over 40 professionals across the U.S., offering a wide range of services. As part of this team, you will assist clients in ensuring state and local tax compliance, reducing expenses, and improving cash flow through strategic planning.

What you'll be doing:
- Serving as a trusted advisor to clients by offering strategic state and local tax consulting services that optimize tax rates and ensure compliance.
- Managing multi-state reviews covering various taxes to identify filing options, exemptions, and corporate structures to lower the client's tax burden.
- Conducting research on state tax matters and guiding clients through tax controversies and audits.
- Leading and executing tax projects, including due diligence and voluntary disclosure projects.
- Providing guidance on state and local tax issues and maintaining active communication with clients to enhance value.
- Supporting client engagement, staffing, and ensuring profitability targets are met.
- Networking internally and externally, investing in professional development, and aiding team members in achieving their goals.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field required; Master's or advanced degree preferred.
- CPA, CMI, or JD/LLM certification required.
- Eight (8)+ years of experience in state and local tax, preferably in a professional services firm setting.
- Five (5)+ years of supervisory experience and mentoring responsibilities preferred.
- Ability to lead, provide exceptional client service, stay updated on strategies, display ethical knowledge, and commit to quality and timely project completion.
- Eligibility to work in the U.S. without sponsorship is highly preferred.
