Occasional weekend shifts Posted 05/30/2024 Req # 13180 This position is an internal posting for a decrease in hours for a particular CRMC employee to sign POSITION SUMMARY Physical Therapists are professional staff skilled in the treatment and prevention of disabilities, injuries, and disease through use of massage, manual therapy, exercise, and effective properties of water, heat, ultrasound, light, and electricity according to an order or referral of a physician.
Physical Therapists must strive to provide the highest possible level of care for the patient and collaborate with other professionals on campus to work toward the goals of the Cuyuna Regional Medical Center.
High quality care and overall efficiency are essential components to this success.POSITION QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience:
Previous physical therapy experience preferred
License/Certificates:
Must be licensed as a Physical Therapist in accordance with State laws and regulations. American Heart Association BLS within 30 days of hire.
Special Skills and Aptitudes:
Effective interpersonal relationship skills including good listening and communication skills. Ability to handle confidential information discreetly and appropriately. Exercises good judgment, flexibility, creativity, and insight in problem solving. Ability to adapt resources to meet the needs of the situation. Possesses high level of organizational and clerical skills. Adjusts to stressful situations with confidence and good judgment. Willingness to pursue competency in service lines needed for department.
ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES Evaluates the patient by performing and interpreting tests and measurements, such as muscle testing, joint measurement, and gait assessment.
May evaluate patients who have not initially seen a physician and treat them for appropriate diagnoses without a physician order or referral as established by Board of Medical Directors Rule.
Develops a plan of care for each patient upon order or referral of a physician, setting short and long term goals and includes a discharge summary.
Maintains adequate records and progress notes on each patient and completes daily billing.Participates in patient care conferences with other related health services, patient, and family to review patient's progress and evaluate goals.
Plans home instruction for patient, family, friend, or public nursing services.Delegates selected forms of treatment to supportive personnel with assumption of responsibility for care of patient and continuing supervision of supportive personnel.
Maintains awareness of services that Medicare or other insurance will cover for Physical Therapy services and refer patient, physician, family, or legal guardian to billing office for questions related to expenses.
Works with other CRMC personnel to set up programs to prevent potential disability and acquaints them with the objectives of Physical Therapy.
Assists in setting up department policy. Assists in setting up programs to better serve the health needs of the area. Demonstrates resourcefulness in emergency situations. Performs Physical Therapy procedures and modalities following established protocols. Demonstrates Standards of Excellence when other duties are assigned.Why Cuyuna Regional Medical Center?
