The Clinical Support Tech I is a vital role in the Acute & Intermediate Coronary Care Unit - 3 Anderson at UNC Medical Center. This position serves as a dual role of the Nursing Assistant I and the Health Unit Coordinator (Clerical).

Responsibilities:
  • Assist the professional caregiver in delivering patient care
  • Transport patients and equipment
  • Set up and maintain patient rooms
  • Perform various clerical, transcription, and maintenance tasks
  • Assist physicians and healthcare providers with examinations and procedures
  • Review patient care documentation and report significant changes
  • Conduct clerical tasks such as organizing workload, answering calls, and transcribing orders
  • Perform quality assurance audits, safety checks, and inventory management
  • Provide clinical support assistance including cleaning, equipment maintenance, and patient care activities
  • Provide direct personal care to patients as outlined in the care plan
  • Assist in patient education and distribution of educational materials

Requirements:

  • Listed as Nurse Aide I Registry with the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) for Healthcare Provider certification
  • 1 year of clerical or customer service experience and 6 months of nursing assistant experience
  • Fluency in verbal and written English language
  • Capability to develop computer skills if not proficient
