This role involves developing and implementing advanced detection logic, and ensuring robust automated remediation processes to protect our cloud assets from threats.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

  • Cloud Security Management: Oversee the security posture of AWS and Azure GovCloud environments, ensuring compliance with relevant government regulations and standards.
  • CSPM Implementation: Utilize CSPM tools, especially Wiz, to continuously monitor and improve cloud security posture. Conduct regular assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities and non-compliance issues.
  • Detection Logic Development: Design and implement advanced detection logic to identify potential threats and anomalies in real-time. Leverage native and third-party tools to enhance threat detection capabilities.
  • Automated Remediation: Develop, test, and deploy automated remediation processes to address identified vulnerabilities and incidents promptly. Ensure that remediation workflows are efficient, reliable, and minimize manual intervention.
  • Policy and Procedure Development: Create and maintain security policies, procedures, and best practices tailored to AWS and Azure GovCloud environments. Ensure all documentation is up-to-date and accessible.
  • Incident Response: Lead and coordinate incident response efforts. Analyze security incidents to determine root cause, impact, and necessary corrective actions. Develop and implement post-incident reviews and improvements.
  • Collaboration and Communication: Work closely with cross-functional teams including DevOps, IT, and compliance to integrate security into all aspects of cloud operations. Provide guidance and mentorship to junior security engineers.
  • Training and Awareness: Conduct training sessions and workshops to raise awareness and educate staff on best practices in cloud security and the use of CSPM tools.

Education Qualification

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cyber Security, or a related field.
  • Experience: Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in cyber security, with at least 5 years focused on cloud security in AWS and Azure environments. Previous experience with government cloud environments (GovCloud) is highly desirable.
  • Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in AWS and Azure security tools and services.
  • Extensive experience with CSPM tools, particularly Wiz.
  • Strong understanding of cloud security frameworks and best practices.
  • Experience in developing and deploying detection logic and automated remediation processes.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements and compliance standards relevant to government cloud environments (e.g., FedRAMP, NIST).
  • Soft Skills:
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Proven leadership and mentoring abilities.

Certifications:

  • Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, and other related credentials are preferred.
