Required Skills
Educational Requirements:
· Graduate of accredited school of professional nursing.
· Completion of a bachelor's degree in nursing
· Master's Degree in Nursing preferred.
· A current license as a professional nurse in the State of Texas.
· CIC Certification preferred or obtainable within 1 year of hire
· Current BLS and ACLS Certification

· Demonstrates competence in management and leadership skills to develop and implement organizational strategies and opportunities for improving the delivery of nursing care to patients.
· Strong computer knowledge and Extensive computer and technical skills with software; specifically with MS Office: Excel, Word, PowerPoint
· Analytical skills to review patient cases against criteria and determine variance from clinical practice
· Maintain current knowledge and adheres to appropriate regulatory standards (i.e. TJC, C.M.S/C.O.P.) and Texas Board of Nurse Examiners.)
· Good organizational and communication skills.
· Functions independently and able to prioritize activities to meet deadlines.
· Ability to work well with physicians, employees, patients and others.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
· Thorough knowledge and understanding of protocol, procedures, and standards within area of nursing expertise.
· Ability to provide operational guidance and leadership to technical staff in area of specialty.
· Knowledge of related accreditation and certification requirements.
· Ability to assess educational needs and design and develop responsible curricula.
· Working knowledge of the use of established care models in the development of education programs.
· Technical leadership skills within area of expertise.
· Advanced nursing skills in area of Surgery area preferred.
· Ability to plan, implement, and evaluate individual patient care programs.
· Highly developed verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present effectively to small and large groups.
- Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
