PURPOSE

IQVIA Design Analytics delivers clinical trial design optimization services that integrates drug development and clinical trial expertise with real world data, transformative technologies, methods, and work models.

The Associate Design Analytics Director primarily supports client consulting engagements, innovation initiatives, and thought leadership.

Participates in day-to-day customer engagement activities to meet or exceed client expectations and company objectives through the development, implementation, and delivery of planning and design services powered by IQVIA Connected Intelligence.

The incumbent will partner across the IQVIA enterprise and the drug development sponsor to bring the right people and information together to optimize clinical study designs.

Provides the voice of the customer in the definition, development and delivery of service requirements. Brings internal and external data sources to bear on critical design questions.

Using novel technologies, guides the customer through the application and interpretation of data to support customers in design and planning decisions.

Partners across the IQVIA enterprise to help drive the ideation, development and implementation of novel, leading edge technology and data assets to enhance the customer experience and Design Analytics services.

Defines information needs and ensures development requirements are fully delivered to maximize the efficiencies and services of Design Analytics.
This role will report to the Line Management who oversees Design Analytics services.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Provides input and serves as SME, performs, manages and co-ordinates activities for complex Design Analytics opportunities / projects across the clinical trial design lifecycle
Utilizes multiple data sources and tools to perform analyses, develop data storyboards, collaborate internally to formulate meaningful client insights and reports, and present to internal and external stakeholders
Uses existing databases in novel ways to answer critical design questions. Understand the limitations and risks of the tools and data.
Works directly with clients to provide value added input, and to deliver projects built around strategic issues.
Provides strategic consultation regarding customer issues and makes recommendations on appropriate solutions.
May have responsibility across multiple expertise areas and/or clients.
Identifies and utilizes other business/clinical subject matter experts (SME) as necessary.
Builds strategic offering partnerships across the company
Participates in business development, marketing and sales activities. Develops proposals and business cases. Provides technical expertise and consulting input into proposals.
Evaluates current assignments and work to develop global or expanded opportunities.
Consults with customers and key internal stakeholders on strategic issues, expanded project scopes and future business opportunities.
Participates in external thought leadership
Delivers expert presentations on topics of interest to potential customers.
Defines business requirements to IT development teams as they build technical and data components that support Design Analytics services.
Maintains proficiency of skills and knowledge and remains current with industry trends based on current literature
Trains, coaches and mentors new / junior staff.
Makes recommendations and leads cross functional process improvements and innovations.
Leads continuous improvement of departmental processes and procedures.
Leads functional area initiatives, special project assignments and acts as departmental cross functional liaison.
REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Able to self-manage to multiple broad objectives and perform all responsibilities independently. Self-starter, highly motivated, quick learner.
Proficiency in consulting fundamentals, clinical program development, and trial design practices
Proven experience of managing raw data, through to aggregated information, to drive meaningful outcomes.
Strong knowledge base in decision analysis techniques, database analysis methods, statistical analysis and reporting, and technical writing
Experience running big-data computational engines, e.g. Spark
Experience in Python and R programming languages.

Able to use these to summarize data via simple and complex tables, create cohorts using index dates, run regression analyses and decision trees.

Experience generating understandable graphics and tables meaningful to business decision-makers.
Demonstrated understanding of natural disease history and medical care/attention. Able to identify features/variables in this data.
Demonstrated comprehension of emerging clinical development information needs and related technology and processes
Demonstrated experience in leading client engagements
Ability to influence in all directions. Gains trust and respect of Senior leadership.
Demonstrates capability to apply data and analytics across multiple TAs / indications
Excellent interpersonal and collaborative skills for relationship building. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with coworkers, managers and customers. Capacity and disposition for collaboration across disciplines.

MINIMUM REQUIRED EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelors degree or educational equivalent in medical, science, or technology related field or equivalent experience

8+ years clinical development experience with a focus towards a deep understanding of the overall clinical development process, including clinical planning, clinical trial operations, or clinical trial design (preferred).

3+ years experience in Consultative/Facilitation experience to manage to outcomes
Project Management experience and/or education

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Extensive use of keyboard requiring repetitive motion of fingers.
Extensive use of virtual meetings requiring accurate perception of speech.
Regular sitting for extended periods of time.
