Tennant Company - Shop Service Technician Position

Being a Shop Service Technician at Tennant Company means you'll be repairing and rebuilding machines for sale to our growing customer base. It's a role where you provide top-notch customer service, troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, and ensure cost-effective and satisfactory outcomes.

General Responsibilities:

  • Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems, as well as combustion engines
  • Maintain service records and prepare accurate repair quotes
  • Ensure proper use and maintenance of company property and equipment
  • Present a professional image and complete work efficiently

Required Experience & Education:

- High school diploma or equivalent, with vocational training a plus

- 3+ years of experience in troubleshooting and repairing mobile equipment

- Ability to read blueprints and schematics

- Proficient in using hand and power tools and diagnostic devices

- Familiarity with basic computer operations

Required Physical Demands:

- Lift objects of varying weights, working in different positions

- Capable of performing physical tasks and working in diverse environmental conditions

Environmental Exposures:

- Regularly exposed to various mechanical and environmental conditions

Safety Requirements:

- Must adhere to safety gear requirements at all times

Required Interpersonal & Behavioral Skills:

- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills, with a focus on product quality

- Ability to work effectively in high-pressure environments

- Flexibility, adaptability, and good relationship-building skills

- Demonstrated ability to work independently and prioritize tasks
