The

Technical Services Specialist

is responsible for supporting PV preventative maintenance and repairs. Other responsibilities include coordinating solar services required repairs and service work with field teams and Field Technical Manager. This position will require travel throughout the

West Texas

area.

Position Responsibilities and Duties:


Direct and take responsibility for safety regulations and work procedures for the teamUnderstand, follow, and communicate safety regulations and work proceduresCoordinates both 3rd party and SOLV O&M repairs.

Creates value added services to existing contractual work.
Field installation of electrical components.
Train and support various regions in PV installations.
Ability to travel at least 50% of the year.
Support SOLV sites with various O&M needs.

Implement repairs to unfamiliar solar equipment, systems, and plants with a minimum amount of training and familiarization safelyUpdates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, and participating in professional organizations.

High School Diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED) or equivalentDemonstrate advanced computer operation skillsAdvanced working knowledge of protection devices, control devices, power supplies, loads, conductors, inverters and transformersAbility to pass an exam on international and domestic electrical schematics and symbolsAbility to pass an exam on electrical troubleshootingValid NFPA 70e Safety Training certificationRemain Current in all safety and technical trainingsDemonstrated ability to be self-sufficient and safe under any conditionsEffective verbal and written English language communication skillsEffective organizational skillsTo work well with PM, management, OCC, HV, and Compliance teamsAbility to work at remote locations in extreme weather conditions (heat, cold, inclement weather)Ability to work on an "on call" basis (may include weekends or after-hours situations)Ability to work with other techs to be able to complete tasks with these team membersValid driver's license, satisfactory driving record and ability to operate company vehicleAbility to assess safety items and issue Stop Work if concerns are raisedAbility to create and adhere to site specific schedulesTo know complete site scope and contractAbility to prioritize levels of response to issues and determine most effective use of resources availableTo interact with various Asset managers and owner's reps, such as creating and running conference calls, onsite meetings, as well as keeping them effectively connected with the operation of their facilities and repairsTake ownership of the facilities and repairs they oversee, being able to field owner questions and concerns providing assurance of services renderedAbility to provide detailed costs and services needed to the PM teams for pricing so they can make accurate estimatesAbility to find and work with various vendors, as well as understanding the scopes requested.

Ability to know the safety aspects of having other contractors onsite, and the safety requirementsTo know the proper way to handle a security or safety issues, or who to reach out to if these events occurAbility to train other techs and know their strengths and weaknesses on onsite items as well as other job activitiesWork to maintain leadership qualities to inspire the techs and SOLV environmentStrong verbal and written communicationsInverter repairs and major component replacementCable terminations both Low voltage and Medium voltageFiber optic troubleshooting and repairsLarge crew management and detailed construction scheduling experienceKnowledge of Basic SCADA communications protocolPhysical Demands and Environmental Conditions:


Occasional exposure to weather, harsh outdoor environment, vibration, dust and fumes, electric shock, radiation, toxic/caustic chemicalsRequires frequent stooping/bending/crouching, reaching, handling, finger dexterity, sitting, standing, walking, and lifting 50 or more lbs.

Constant finger dexterity and ability to see details at close range and at a distance, hear, and talk, and possess depth perceptionOccasional climbing and carrying, proximity to moving mechanical parts, working in high, exposed, or difficult to access placesThe noise intensity level may be high
