Roll overview
We are looking for an applicant with extensive scientific visualization expertise who can help us create a completely novel and intuitive experience for scientific computing users. This candidate will be responsible for implementing state-of-the-art data visuilization algorithms, developing real-time large scale rendering capabilities, and discovcering novel ways to interact with large Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) data sets.
Requirements
Required
- PhD in computer science or applicable technical field with 2-5 years of industry experience
- Strong background in Computational Geometry, GPU rendering, Scientific Computing
- Basic knowledge of numerical methods, Scientific Visualization, and data compression
- Proven experience in and contributions to scientific visualization software with CFD applications
- C++ for scientific computing, Python (or similar) for scripting, and JavaScript
- Familiar with web-based visualization libraries such as OpenGL
- Experience with Amazon Web Service (or similar service) for data visuilization
Preferred
- Industry experience with implementation and testing of large scale web-based visualization
- Prior experience in working collaboratively in a medium sized distributed development team
- Expertise in one or more of the following topics:
- Mesh Coarsening algorithms
- Octree data structures
- Server-client rendering
- Real-time visualization
- Development of scalable, parallel scientific software using MPI, OpenMP, or CUDA
- Virtual Reality rendering of large-scale Scientific Computing data
- Experience with open source data visualization software such as ParaView.
- Ray tracing algorithms
- High-throughput batched data processing
