Associate Director - Analytics & SRM - Franklin, TN

The purpose of the Analytics & SRM Team is to enable the Commercial Sourcing organization to be more efficient and effective in its short-term and long-term strategic sourcing initiatives within the $2.0B Primes (Raw and Packaging) for the North America Petcare business. This role is pivotal to our business given Primes makes up the largest expense in our business and the strategic nature of our supply base.

The purpose of this Role is to manage a team of professionals focused on driving expertise through key Commercial foundations, project management, enhancing digital tools, capability building, invoice resolution and best practice management. The role will collaborate across the organization to ensure the Commercial team has the information, tools, and processes in place to drive team success and efficiency. This role will sit on the Commercial Leadership Team (CLT) to ensure that the right strategic projects are executed at the right time to accomplish our business objectives. This position requires approximately 25% travel.

What are we looking for?
  • Bachelor's Degree or Higher in Computer Science
  • 5+ years Procurement experience
  • 8 years of experience with the following systems: SAP, Alteryx, Power BI, SQL or Tableau
  • 5-8 years of experience in a variety of Supply Chain and Customer Care roles
  • 8+ years of experience in Procurement Spend Analytics, Dashboard creation, ERP systems, database architecture and sizing
  • Proven experience and ability to build and develop teams
  • Functional skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Visio and PowerPoint, SmartSheets, and Supplier Scorecards systems/processes
What will be your key responsibilities?

This position is accountable for leading, guiding, tracking, communicating, and deploying critical sourcing programs that span across the department including, but not limited to:

1. Digitizing the Supply Chain with Supply & Commercial that will integrate next generation tools and processes into the organization
  • Sponsor the data pillar. Deliver projects, insights and engagement through this team.
  • Lead the development and implementation of regional and global Commercial digital strategy.
  • Be a product owner of the existing solutions to ensure continued high engagement of the tools
  • Supplier Scorecard creation and implementation program across all Primes
  • Analytical support (spend/material/TCO analytics)
  • Ensure development and dissemination of training materials for all systems and tools used by Commercial professionals
  • Ensure full implementation of large technology scale programs. Ex: Cirtuo, Fiori, SAP S4
  • Through dashboards and scorecards, update the Regional Commercial Head on the status and adherence to plan of the Commercial Dashboard - Pillars, Strategies and Priorities
2. Build Commercial Competencies
  • Plan and deliver trainings, programs and competencies across the entire commercial organization
  • Capability building in sourcing, leadership, and help to establish a culture of discipline and excellence in execution
  • Coach strategic sourcing team to ensure MSSM playbook is utilized and best practices are being spread/used
  • Mars Strategic Sourcing Methodology (MSSM) tracking & reporting
  • Codify best practices for all key processes (Signed spec, RFP's, etc.)
3. Project Management
  • Deliver large scale strategic commercial projects by buildings relationships, developing timelines and helping the group stay organized
4. Networking Capital Leadership
  • Lead the cash improvement program related to suppliers in assigned categories
  • Deliver incremental cash improvement year on year while developing Next Generation Net Working Capital programs for future years.
  • Manage existing SOI program to ensure smooth operations
  • Manage timely payments through the invoice resolution process
5. Improve and refine Analytics capability building program and content
  • Lead and develop a team of associates to ensure that all business processes, Commercial guidelines and the Finance Manual are understood. This includes driving a robust Commercial operating environment
  • Follow best practice in Commercial and build strategy to adopt latest tools techniques and develop strategy to bring advanced training materials to Mars Pet Nutrition
  • Codify and manage Commercial knowledge (e.g., sourcing strategies, execution insights)
  • Build and maintain a library of commonly used analyses
  • Serve as a quality check for final analytic deliverables
6. Knowledge Center Management to Drive Value and Effectiveness through the Function
  • Drive an effective relationship with key internal clients, especially with R&D and Marketing to ensure the delivery of business plans at or ahead of targets & plans. This involves regional and global counterparts to ensure appropriate Commercial representation in internal business processes.
