What you will be doing:

This position plans, manages, supervises, and controls all the activities necessary for the development of transportation projects. Preliminary and final design of multiple, large, complex transportation improvements for highways, roads, airports and other public transportation projects.

Coordinating the efforts of in-house design staff or private engineering, architecture or other consultants, functional groups within the Department and other outside agencies.

The employee supervises design section professional and technical engineering staff, mentoring that staff in project workflow and scheduling, project design, and consultant contract management duties.

Minimum Qualifications

Registration as a Professional Engineer (PE) or Architect, and three years of professional engineering or architectural experience (Engineer/Architect series), or the equivalent.

Special Note:

Note:

Persons not registered in the State of Alaska must be registered in a state recognized by the State Board of Registration for Architects, Engineers and Land Surveyors eligible for comity in accordance with AS b).

Persons employed under this provision must become registered in Alaska within one year of hire and sign an agreement to this effect as a condition of employment.
