  • 625-bed teaching hospital in Pasadena, CA, part of the Cedars-Sinai Health System, offering cutting-edge medical services, including a Level II Trauma Center, Level III B Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, Pediatric Unit, and accredited cancer, stroke, and orthopedic programs.

Position Summary:

We are in search of a full-time physician specializing in palliative care to lead a 16-year consultation service, working alongside two physicians, two licensed clinical social workers, and a chaplain. The current patient volume exceeds 900 annually, with a required GME rotation and association with the GIP program through AccentCare Hospice.

Responsibilities:

  • Conduct initial consultations, hold patient/family meetings, and provide ongoing care follow-ups.
  • Participate in weekend coverage on a rotating basis.

Requirements:

Candidates must be board-certified or board-eligible in Palliative Care with fellowship completion. Key attributes should include professional assurance, ethical commitment, and a collaborative management approach. Excellent communication skills, ability to educate staff, familiarity with resources for advanced and end-of-life care, and a compassionate demeanor towards patients and families are essential.
