Job Description

Job Summary:

Responsibilities include management oversight of production, workload scheduling, policies/procedures
management, provides production staffing assistance, performs production work as necessary and instills
quality and safety consciousness among all production employees.

Essential Job Duties

  • Oversee overall production assignments to ensure quality control and maximum productivity of employees
in accordance with Production requirements.

  • Plan production operations, establishing priorities and sequences for manufacturing products.
  • Review production orders or schedules to ascertain product data such as types, quantities, and
specifications of products and scheduled delivery dates in order to plan department operations.

  • Review production and operating reports and resolves operational, manufacturing, and maintenance
problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays.

  • Encourage employee suggestions, develop safety awareness among employees and enforce all applicable
safety regulations and Company practices and procedures.

  • Review maintenance checklists and equipment repair schedules on a regular and frequent basis.
  • Supervise hazardous waste program and all other applicable governmental regulatory agency programs.
  • Supervise the maintenance of production equipment.
  • Assure all materials needed for optimum economic production are available.
  • Ensure proper material controls and actively participates with monthly inventory process.
  • Perform monthly inventory of production supplies.
  • Perform production work as necessary.
  • Initiate and support the continual improvement of LKQ Corporation quality improvement system.
  • Assume other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • Manage the work of others, including planning, assigning, scheduling and reviewing work, ensures quality
standards. Responsible for hiring, terminating, training and developing, reviewing performance and
administering corrective action for staff.

Requirements

Basic Qualifications

Education Experience:

  • 5+ years experience.
  • 3+ years warehouse related experience, supplemented by on-the-job training to learn associated duties
and the nature of work performed, as well as procedures and work methods in order to become familiar
with the company's products, locations, machines and equipment, operating methods and proficiency
requirements necessary to fully assume the responsibilities of the job.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High School graduate or G.E.D. equivalent desired.
  • Forklift certification is beneficial.
  • Bilingual Spanish is a definite plus.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • Possess good communication and leadership skills.
  • Have knowledge of and understand OSHA, "Right to Know" and all other applicable governmental
regulatory agency programs, regulations and practices.

  • Have supervisory background and demonstrated mechanical inclination.
  • Must be familiar with the company's products and warehouse methods, techniques and procedures.
  • Must be able to work in cooperation with others.
  • Must be attentive to detail and ensure accuracy in work assignments.
  • Must be able to communicate effectively with others.
  • Must have the flexibility to work variable schedules, including weekends.
  • Ability to effectively manage staff, budgets, and production.

Essential Physical Demands/Work Environment:

  • This position requires individuals to be able to work warehouse inventory including lifting equipment,
bumpers, etc.; must be able to move/lift up to 75 pounds.

  • Should not have any lifting restrictions and must not possess fear of heights.
  • Should be able to tolerate high and low temperature levels.
  • Should possess special skills in the operation of a forklift in negotiating the lift in close quarters.
