JOB DESCRIPTION

The Public Health, Policy & Planning Division of San Mateo County Health is in the search for a skilled individual to join as Public Health Clinics Program Coordinator I. Take charge of administrative support over Public Health Clinics, focusing on Mobile Clinics. If hired, you will be responsible for coordinating program activities, events, and providing crucial administrative assistance to management staff. The role also involves overseeing Mobile Clinics facilities and requires driving a mobile health coach that mandates a Class B license.

Located in San Mateo, CA, with travel requirements across the County, you will play a vital role in maintaining and enhancing specialized systems and tools, managing vendor relationships, and facilitating various events and meetings.


RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide leadership and advocacy for underserved populations.
  • Collaborate with community organizations and groups related to the program.
  • Assist in contract management with partner agencies.
  • Oversee procurement and delivery processes.
  • Maintain program statistics, prepare reports, and facilitate program improvements.
  • Manage mobile clinics facilities and coordinate maintenance activities.
  • Drive mobile health coach regularly and resolve facility issues.
  • Provide technical and administrative support to management and staff.
  • Organize and lead meetings and events on behalf of the program.
  • Educate the public about program services and supervise event activities.
  • Handle client inquiries and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Perform other related duties as necessary.

The successful candidate for this position must secure a Class B driver license within six months of hire, with training expenses covered by the department.


IDEAL CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS
  • Experience in coordinating mobile clinic facilities.
  • Demonstrated resource management skills.
  • Proficient in MS Office, data analysis tools, and electronic health records.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

QUALIFICATIONS

Licensure/Certification:

  • Proficient in operating a mobile health coach requiring a Class B license.
  • Ability to complete training and obtain a Class B license within six months.

Knowledge of:
  • Effective customer relations practices.
  • Administrative research and analysis techniques.
  • Program area regulations and technical requirements.
  • Local laws, rules, and regulations governing program operations.

Skill/Ability to:
  • Plan and implement administrative research and analysis.
  • Train and support staff in work procedures.
  • Communicate effectively and establish good working relationships.
  • Analyze and interpret data accurately.
  • Prepare clear and concise reports and materials.
  • Prioritize work and meet deadlines efficiently.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Program Coordinator I position requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field and two years of professional administrative experience.
