Job Description Summary


The Military Controls Executive will report to the Executive Director of Sciences Engineering and will provide leadership and oversight for quality engineering design, execution, and product safety for GE products and services.

In this **important position**, this individual will also provide leadership and technical direction, influence customer requirements, and clearly communicate and execute on customer commitments

Job Description

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Regular presence in facilities for both employee and customer interface
  • Provide leadership and technical direction for assigned organizational responsibilities, programs, and personnel
  • Collaborate across product lines and disciplines
  • Foster technical excellence within own section and support groups through participation in design/technical reviews, lessons learned application, DFR/DFSS, and technical innovation/growth
  • Maintain relationships with external and internal interfaces to ensure customer requirements are met
  • Manage overall engineering program requirements, timing, and resources to meet business objectives and goals
  • Communicate technical and financial aspects of section activities vertically and horizontally
  • Encourage growth, technical development, and interpersonal skills improvement
  • Develop engagement strategy and operating rhythms
  • Ensure compliance initiatives and training implementations
  • Continuously improve responsiveness of the organization to customer and business needs

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering
  • 8 years of technical leadership experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a US DoD security clearance

Desired Characteristics:

  • Master's degree in Aerospace, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience in managing technical programs and designing new products
  • Background in Controls Systems engineering
  • Ability to influence at all organizational levels
  • Business acumen and customer focus
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Proficiency in working across functions and levels as part of a team
  • Strong analytical and team-based skills
  • Capacity to work well under pressure and meet deadlines
  • Coaching expertise and collaboration success across business functions

Additional Qualifications:

  • Lean and process improvement experience
