JOB DESCRIPTION:

We are looking for a SPASH Library Media Center Education Assistant to join our team in Stevens Point, Wisconsin. Be part of our group of 1100 staff members and enjoy the family-friendly environment.

Our facilities include: Nine elementary schools, Two junior high schools, One senior high school, Point of Discovery Charter School, Charles Fernandez Center (alternative high school), Boston School Forest, Online Learning Center, 4K program.


REQUIREMENTS:

Education and Experience:
- Associates degree or a minimum of two years of post-secondary study (48 credits) - Instructional paraprofessional meeting NCLB or ESSA hiring criteria from another district, or assistance can be provided by the district to meet certification requirements if necessary.

Key Responsibilities:

- Assist students and staff in finding and accessing library materials onsite and online, provide guidance on Internet resources and other technologies. - Manage material circulation tasks such as checking in/out, displaying materials, organizing events to encourage reading, updating catalog lists, preparing overdue lists, and reshuffling returned materials. - Handle material processing duties like applying protective jackets, adding bar codes, managing patrons in the system, conducting inventory, and maintaining records. - Help staff with scheduling Library Media Center (LMC) time, setting up for classes/meetings, communicating unit themes and required resources. - Oversee student detention, attendance, confidentiality, behavior management, and submission of student work. - Create printed materials, input data, and update the web page as needed.
