Taylor recently underwent a comprehensive strategic planning process resulting in the 'Taylor Thrives' plan, aimed at positioning the university for long-term success and eminence in the academic landscape.

The Position:

The Director of PREACH Initiative plays a key role in preparing future preachers for the American church. This grant-funded position oversees the development and implementation of various components of the program. The Director will be responsible for engaging with local and national churches, fostering relationships with established preachers, and promoting preaching excellence at Taylor University.

Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with academic and administrative offices to design curriculum for the PREACH Master Class series
  • Invite distinguished preachers for campus events and coordinate their visits
  • Organize and lead Master Class sessions
  • Work with senior university leaders to establish the PREACH Lab
  • Instruct classes in the PREACH minor program
  • Recruit students and pastors for the PREACH initiatives
  • Cultivate relationships with churches and Christian leaders
  • Deliver speeches at various events and organizations
  • Support student groups in their church engagements
  • Provide progress updates to the Vice President of Spiritual Life and Intercultural Leadership
  • Expand programs such as the Joseph P. Blades Award for Preaching Excellence

Qualifications:

  • Deep commitment to evangelical Christianity and Taylor University's values
  • Demonstrated dedication and success in previous roles
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to thrive in dynamic environments
  • Cross-cultural experience and bilingualism preferred
  • Proactive, detail-oriented, and organized
  • Master's Degree and relevant experience preferred
  • 7 years of experience in higher education or ministry
  • Ordination from a recognized ministry/denomination
