Welcome to Haerter

Haerter Stamping LLC is a rapidly growing international supplier of high-precision stamping parts and tools.


We are looking for an well experienced Tool & Die Maker on 1st or 2nd Shift to join our tooling team.


Hourly rate is dependent on experience.


The main responsibilities of this position are supporting production stamping and assembly to ensure uptime, performing preventative tool maintenance at scheduled intervals, and repairing and troubleshooting problems with stamping dies and specialty machines.


Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Minimum 4 years of experience is required
  • Able to read and interpret blueprints
  • Utilize calipers, micrometers, gauge pins and blocks, various other types of measurement equipment
  • Good mechanical knowledge and understanding of all tool room equipment
  • Computer skills such as Microsoft office and Visi 3D Modeling is preferred
  • Ability to work and communicate well with others
  • DOL certified Journeyman's card in Tool and Die preferred but is not required
  • Ability to accurately complete complex work with tight tolerances

Responsibilities:

  • Operation of Jung 1 and G&H grinders to produce and modify tooling components to required dimensions
  • Basic operations of the Bridgeport mill to produce and modify tooling components
  • Polishing components as required using Schaublin lathe or Ultrasonic polishing machine
  • Operation of drill press, large lathe, saw, pin cutter, and tapping arm
  • Ability to independently perform routine maintenance on stamping tools as defined in the tool book and based on established maintenance schedules
  • Full competency in checking and filling nitrogen cylinders with the equipment provided (this involves rear tool room only)
  • Full competency in overhead crane use and forklift driving
  • Able to diagnose problems with the stamping press and resolve them to ensure production up time
  • Full competency in using Cad system to procure drawings and order spare parts
