Summary:

The Reliability Engineer will be responsible for helping develop the methods, models, and processes to improve product reliability. This will include literature research, developing stress-life models, test plans, overseeing internal and external test resources, data analysis, and generation of reports. Your work will have a key impact on the product we produce. You will be working on a diverse spectrum of products from the battery cell to the battery management system, to the thermal management system.

Job Details:
  • Conduct literature research on the physics of failure to inform reliability models
  • Develop stress-life models and design verification plans for product reliability enhancement
  • Build and analyze Reliability Block Diagrams, setting reliability goals, and conducting allocation analysis
  • Oversee internal and external test resources, including accelerated life testing modeling with stress-life relationships (Arrhenius, Hallberg-Peck, Coffin-Manson, etc.)
  • Apply various reliability concepts (DOE, DfR, PoF, FMEA) to improve overall product reliability
  • Conduct warranty analysis of field failure rates, providing insights for continuous improvement
  • Analyze and interpret test data, generate reports and provide actionable insights to improve product reliability
  • Collaborate with Quality to provide test plans to test reliability and implement learnings from testing
  • Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Electrical and Mechanical or equivalent relevant experience
  • 3-5 years of Reliability Engineering experience
  • Proven experience in product reliability, with a preference for expertise in lithium-ion battery systems, battery management systems, or telecom
  • Strong problem-solving skills with a track record of effective solutions
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate complex concepts effectively across levels and functions
  • Experience with Highly Accelerated Life Testing (HALT), Highly Accelerated Stress Screening (HASS), Accelerated Life Testing (ALT)
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines
  • Ability to lift up to 25lbs frequently and up to 50lbs occasionally
  • Ability to work flexible hours as needed to support international teams
  • Strong proficiency in MS Office applications (Excel, Word, PowerPoint)
  • Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field preferred
  • Experience working with international teams and contract manufacturers is preferred
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) preferred
  • Limited travel requirements
