SUMMARY:

This position is responsible for the inspection and repair of all Fargo Park District owned and operated facilities to ensure they are maintained in a safe and efficient manner.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Evaluation of this position is based primarily on performance of the following essential functions, which include, but are not limited to:
  • Inspect buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect malfunctions and performs needed repairs.
  • Perform and document preventative maintenance procedures on all Park District facilities on a scheduled basis. Performs repairs and renovations as needed to maintain the integrity of buildings and facilities for their intended purposes.
  • Operate and maintain all equipment related to Park District facilities in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Maintain and troubleshoot security, plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems within the Park District.
  • Hiring, supervising, and evaluation of seasonal staff in park facilities to include campground, sledding hill, shelters, outdoor ice rinks, and other facilities as assigned.
  • Responsible for the management oversight of the inventory for facility supplies, PPE, and all items at the central warehouse.
  • Responsible for maintaining security systems throughout the Park District.
OTHER FUNCTIONS:

Evaluation of this position may also be based on performance of the following other functions, which include, but are not limited to:
  • Keeps direct supervisor promptly informed of key/significant issues or concerns.
  • Carrying out duties and responsibilities in a safe and efficient manner to maintain safe work environment and surrounding area for oneself, co-workers and public.
  • Responding to hazardous situations and/or potentially unsafe conditions by taking corrective action as capable and promptly notifying supervisory personnel.
  • Assist other departments within the Parks Department as needed. Some duties would include, but not limited to, winter park maintenance, summer park maintenance, and assist during times of natural disaster damage.
  • Performing related duties as assigned or apparent.
Experience and Skills
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

Accepted education and experience are as follows:
  • Required:
Associate degree or certificate from an accredited institution in facility and grounds maintenance or related field and 1 year of related work experience

Or

3+ years of related work experience

CREDENTIALS/LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS:
  • Must possess a valid driver's license.
