Survey Supervisor

Job Description:

  • Provide surveying and field engineering support for various activities in Antarctica.
  • Supervise crew and deploy to Antarctica during the Austral summer.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Maintain commitment to personal, co-worker, and project safety.
  • Responsible for design and layout of airfields in Antarctica, as well as flagging of NAVAIDS and road systems.
  • Coordinate with relevant offices for airfield data and approach procedures.
  • Provide surveying and design support for construction projects and science events.
  • Update topographic and site drawings as necessary.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Professional Land Surveyor License (PLS).
  • Six years of experience in field engineering/surveying.
  • Three years in a supervisory role.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Proficiency in various surveying and mapping tools.
  • Experience with CAD and GIS software.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Sound decision-making ability and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

  • AA degree in surveying.
  • Knowledge of sea ice dynamics.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to deploy to Antarctica for extended periods.
  • Physically able to perform tasks in extreme cold conditions.
  • Valid Driver's License issued in the United States.
