About the Role:

  • Lead all financial accounting processes with precision and compliance.
  • Manage general ledger accounts and ensure accurate financial transactions.
  • Oversee month-end closings and prepare reports for the Virginia Department of Accounts.
  • Provide detailed financial analyses and optimize finance processes.
  • Collaborate with various departments and stay updated on accounting standards.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of finance and accounting experience, with 4 years in a leadership role.
  • CPA license preferred.
  • Experience in higher education or non-profit sector is a plus.
  • Proficient in accounting software and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills.

Preferred Competencies:

  • Attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Effective communication of insights and recommendations.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Meet deadlines while ensuring compliance.
  • Work well in cross-functional teams and mentor colleagues.

Salary Range: $100K - $130K annually
