Surgical Oncologist Position at C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center
C.W. Bill Young VA Medical Center is looking for a fellowship trained, board-certified, or board-eligible surgical oncologist to join their team of general surgeons to expand the surgical oncology practice.
This role will involve a mix of Surgical Oncology and General Surgery with General Surgery call requirements. The C.W. Bill Young Medical Center is known for being the only VA Medical Center in Florida with a Commission on Cancer Approved Cancer Program.
Qualifications:
- Basic Requirements: Applicants must meet the specified basic requirements and any additional requirements mentioned in the job announcement.
- Residency Training: Physicians must have completed residency training in an accredited core specialty training program (General Surgery, Surgical Oncology) to be eligible for board certification.
- United States Citizenship and full and unrestricted license to practice medicine or surgery in the US are required.
Preferred Experience:
Fellowship trained individuals are preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Applicants must pass a pre-employment physical examination that includes various physical activities and capabilities.
Duties:
- Provide integrative cancer treatment and conduct basic and clinical research.
- Have teaching responsibilities for surgical residents and medical students in affiliated universities.
- Work on-call as necessary and rotate with other physicians regularly.
- Responsible for obtaining informed consent from patients/families before performing invasive procedures.
Work Schedule:
Monday-Friday 8am-430pm, with potential for varied shifts based on facility needs.
