JOB DESCRIPTION:
A Physical Therapist performs treatments and exercises to help patients recover from illnesses and injuries.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
Conducting physical and psychological assessments of clients to understand their physical condition and developing or following a treatment plan
Participate in family care plan meetings and educate caregivers and family members of clients on patient care
Creating personalized fitness-oriented healthcare programs for patients
Administer medically prescribed physical therapy treatments to relieve pain and improve mobility
Consult and collaborate with other healthcare professionals regarding patients
Documenting patient care history
Demonstrate ability to work with geriatric residents
REQUIREMENTS:
A degree in Physical Therapy from a program accredited by the American Physical Therapy Association (APTA) required
Current PT license in NYS required
Must have knowledge, skills, and techniques of age-specific developmental factors and be able to evaluate patients
Must have up-to-date knowledge of treatment practices and physical therapy programs
Experience in long-term care preferred
Must be flexible, punctual, professional, and reliable
Strong customer service skills and compassion
