The Father Engagement Group Facilitator at the Children's Bureau is responsible for leading and facilitating group sessions aimed at promoting positive father involvement and enhancing parenting skills.

The facilitator will play a pivotal role in creating a supportive and inclusive environment for fathers to share experiences, learn from one another, and develop strategies to strengthen their relationships with their children.

This position requires strong facilitation skills, a deep understanding of fatherhood issues, and a passion for empowering fathers and families.


Responsibilities:

  • Group Facilitation_
  • Plan and facilitate engaging and interactive group sessions for fathers participating in the Father Engagement Program.
  • Create a safe and supportive environment that encourages open discussion, active participation, and mutual respect among group members.
  • Utilize effective facilitation techniques to encourage meaningful conversations, problemsolving, and skill development.
  • Incorporate evidencebased strategies and best practices for promoting positive parenting and fatherchild relationships.
  • Adapt facilitation methods to meet the diverse needs and backgrounds of group participants.
Curriculum Development

  • Collaborate with program staff to develop and refine the curriculum for father engagement group sessions.
  • Identify relevant topics and themes related to fatherhood, parenting, child development, communication, and relationshipbuilding.
  • Create session outlines, activities, and materials that engage fathers and promote active learning.
  • Stay updated on current research and resources in the field of fatherhood and incorporate them into the group curriculum.
  • Relationship Building_
  • Build rapport and establish trusting relationships with group participants, fostering a sense of community and support.
  • Encourage fathers to share their experiences, challenges, and successes in a nonjudgmental and empathetic environment.
  • Provide individual guidance, support, and resources to fathers based on their unique needs and goals.
  • Connect fathers with appropriate community resources and services as needed.
  • Program Collaboration_
  • Collaborate with the Father Engagement Program team to ensure a cohesive and integrated approach to services.
  • Coordinate with case managers, program coordinators, and other staff to align group sessions with individualized service plans.
  • Participate in regular team meetings to discuss participant progress, challenges, and successes.
  • Provide feedback and insights
