Position Summary:


Orbital Therapeutics is currently seeking a highly motivated, self-driven, and creative individual with extensive experience in immuno-oncology, looking to join an outstanding research team dedicated to designing and executing studies using a new generation of RNA medicines.

This individual will enjoy working in a pioneering, fast-paced, and collaborative start-up environment with the opportunity to drive oncology-focused programs, while also exploring ways to unleash the power of Orbital's core technologies.

This individual will join culture of intellectual rigor, scientific curiosity, and collegiality, cross functionally contributing to research across the organization.

The candidate will be an important team member whose contributions will be critical to our success in developing new therapeutics to improve the lives of patients.


Responsibilities:

  • The successful candidate will work both independently and as part of a team to develop and optimize therapeutic approaches to key oncology targets.
  • Effectively design, plan, and execute in vivo and in vitro studies using flow cytometry and other related techniques.
  • Ability to evaluate immune cell populations and cancer cell function.
  • Support projects in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team of scientists.
  • Create experiments autonomously to execute project strategies as well as progressively play a more determining role in "go" or "no go" decisions.
  • Help shape R&D strategy and contribute meaningfully to building out our internal efforts to advance our oncology platform at the forefront of scientific innovation.
  • Communicate data findings to the scientific team and key stakeholders within the company.
  • Mentor and train research associates.

Qualifications:

  • Ph.
D. in Immunology, Biology, Oncology, or a closely related field with 4-6 years of experience (B.S./M.S. with appropriate years of experience will be considered).

  • Extensive experience in Immunology/Immuno-oncology is required.
  • Extensive hands-on experience in leading the identification and validation of novel oncology targets through in vitro and in vivo characterization including primary cell culture and handling animal tissues is required.
  • Experience maintaining accurate records of experimental data in electronic lab notebook (ELN) format.
  • Familiarity with CAR T cell therapy in immuno-oncology field is a plus.
  • Understanding of statistical principles as applicable to data analysis.
  • Execution focused, team-oriented, and highly motivated with strong written and oral presentation skills.
