RESPONSIBILITIES:

Kforce has a client that is seeking a Communications/Technical Editor, Senior in Bethesda, MD.Duties Include:
  • Communications/Technical Editor, Senior will independently execute technical writing activities in support of the Knowledge Management (KM) strategy, planning, execution, and reporting
  • Take detailed notes and facilitate meetings as a key aspect of the role
  • Write, re-write, and/or edit standing operating procedures (SOPs), technical documents, white papers, reports, and related technical publications to communicate technical specifications and instructions clearly and effectively to diverse audiences
  • Acquire subject knowledge through stakeholder interviews, observing the performance of mission execution methods, and referring to technical specifications, blueprints, engineering illustrations, and trade journals
  • As a Communications/Technical Editor, Senior, you will develop strong relationships with senior leaders across the organization to understand key business priorities
  • Oversee the preparation of illustrative materials, including the selection of drawings, sketches, diagrams, and charts
  • Conduct quality reviews of materials prior to publication and distribution

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Requires a BA/BS and 18 years of experience, a Master's and 10 years of experience, or no degree with 24 years of experience
  • Senior-level expertise with Knowledge Management (KM) processes and strategies
  • Ability to work independently, with strong oral and written communication skills to communicate technical specifications and instructions clearly and effectively to a wide range of audiences
  • Expert interpersonal skills for acquiring subject knowledge through various methods
  • Demonstrated team leadership skills to oversee the preparation and quality review of illustrative materials for publication and distribution

The pay range is the lowest to highest compensation we reasonably in good faith believe we would pay at posting for this role. We may ultimately pay more or less than this range. Employee pay is based on factors like relevant education, qualifications, certifications, experience, skills, seniority, location, performance, union contract and business needs. This range may be modified in the future.

We offer comprehensive benefits including medical/dental/vision insurance, HSA, FSA, 401(k), and life, disability & ADD insurance to eligible employees. Salaried personnel receive paid time off. Hourly employees are not eligible for paid time off unless required by law. Hourly employees on a Service Contract Act project are eligible for paid sick leave.

Note: Pay is not considered compensation until it is earned, vested and determinable. The amount and availability of any compensation remains in Kforce's sole discretion unless and until paid and may be modified in its discretion consistent with the law.
