Summary:

  • Responsible for managing professional counselors and ensuring the CDC Employee Assistance Program's (EAP) ability to provide psychological services for individuals with emotional or family relations problems, mental health issues, and complex personal challenges.
  • Create a safe and therapeutic environment for employees and clients while maintaining patient confidentiality.
  • Plan and implement counseling and mental health programs for the CDC workforce.
  • Collaborate with other disciplines such as physicians, social workers, and psychiatrists.
Requirements:
  • US Citizenship required. Males born after December 31, 1959 must be registered or exempt from Selective Service.
  • Background/Security Investigation may be required.
  • Must meet OGE Financial Disclosure requirements.
  • Drug Test and Random Drug Testing may be required.
  • Valid license to practice psychotherapy/counseling within the state of Georgia.
Qualifications:
  • Basic Qualifications: Completion of graduate study in counseling psychology or related field.
  • Minimum Qualifications: At least one year of specialized experience providing mental health counseling.
Education:
  • Transcripts required for positions with an education requirement.
  • Foreign education may be used to meet requirements.
