EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Master's degree in Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or a related field. Experience in conducting various assessments, including preference assessments, skills assessments, and Functional Behavioral Assessments. One to three years experience with students with developmental disabilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates on an interdisciplinary team whose responsibility is to provide initial and on-going evaluations for each student and to establish appropriate therapeutic goals and program recommendations
Conducts comprehensive Functional Behavioral Assessments (FBA) based on multiple sources of data including indirect assessments, direct observations, and experimental analyses
In collaboration with all team members, develops and modifies Behavior Intervention Plans to meet the needs of students
Trains all team members on the specific techniques necessary to carry out the individualized Behavior Intervention Plans
Provides on-going consultation, support, modeling and training for Agency staff in carrying out Behavior Intervention Plans
Maintains the immediate and on-going supervisory responsibilities of one crisis intervention specialist
Analyzes behavior data regularly and uses data to make decisions regarding students' programming
Develops and monitors toilet training programs as determined by the individual student's needs
Participates in ongoing professional development to stay current in the field of Behavior Analysis
Provides training to Agency staff in the principles of Behavior Analysis
Supports the implementation of evidence-based practices throughout the Agency
Maintains good working relations with all Agency staff
Works closely with parents and/or residential staff in both consultation and training for the student's school and home programming needs
Maintains accurate and current records for each student on caseload, including appropriate data collection and administrative procedures in compliance with NYSED requirements
Understands the psychological and medical characteristics of the population served by the Agency
Participates in Agency functions and various community meetings as requested
Develops and maintains good working relations with outside agency providers that are responsible or potentially responsible for providing medical, physical, behavioral or other programming for the students
Sensitivity to cultural diversity of others
