Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Certified Recreation Therapist to join our team at Hillside Family of Agencies. As a Recreation Therapist, you will be responsible for planning and implementing therapeutic recreational activities for youth with mental health diagnoses.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop and implement recreation assessments, treatment goals, and progress monitoring for youth with mental health diagnoses.
  • Provide supervision and risk management for recreation activities, ensuring a safe and healthy environment for all participants.
  • Collaborate with treatment teams to develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Provide recreation programs, activity leadership, and team building initiatives that promote healthy leisure lifestyle choices, psycho-motor skills, and growth and socialization development.
  • Recognize and address aggressive student/youth behavior, utilizing behavior management and Therapeutic Crisis Intervention (TCI) techniques.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in Therapeutic Recreation with emphasis in Therapeutic Recreation.
  • CTRS (Certified Therapeutic Recreation Specialist) Certification or eligibility.
  • 1+ years of youth recreation experience.
  • Valid unrestricted driver's license and meet agency driving standards.
  • CPR/First Aid Certified.
  • Lifeguard Certified or obtain a lifeguard certification within 4 months of hire.
