Objective of Role

As a Senior Loan Origination Officer based in Denver, you will play a crucial role in being a leading member of our loan originations team. The Senior Loan Origination Officer will lead coverage for commercial mortgage brokers located on the West Coast, specifically Denver west. You will work closely with the fund manager and collaborate with various internal teams to identify lending opportunities, evaluate potential borrowers, and develop customized loan structures for any particular transaction. The officer will also supervise loan asset management responsibilities on loans they originate for the firm. Strong business acumen, industry knowledge, and relationship-building skills will be essential in driving the growth of our loan portfolio.

Responsibilities

  • Source, underwrite, close and asset manage bridge loan opportunities.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with borrowers, commercial real estate brokers, and other industry professionals on the West Coast.
  • Prepare and present loan memorandums to the investment committee.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as the underwriting, legal, and asset management to ensure smooth loan processing and asset management experience for borrowers.
  • Stay updated on market trends, industry regulations, and competitive landscape to proactively identify lending opportunities and mitigate risks.
  • Negotiate loan terms, conditions, and pricing in consultation with the Fund Manager and other senior members of the team.
  • Monitor the progress and performance of existing loan portfolio, ensuring timely collection of loan payments and proactive asset management tasks.
Required Qualifications & Experience
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, real estate or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience as a loan originator, preferably in the middle market bridge loan space for loans above $25mm.
  • Strong knowledge of the West Coast commercial real estate markets, including trends, property types, brokers and brokerage shops, and major investors.
  • Proven track record of originating and closing commercial real estate loans.
  • Solid understanding of financial analysis, underwriting principles, and loan structuring.
  • Exceptional relationship-building and networking skills, with the ability to establish rapport.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to work on a team, prioritize tasks, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and financial modeling tools
Estimated compensation for this position is:
