Life Cycle Engineering (LCE) is responsible for ensuring our products are Safe, Reliable, Maintainable and delivered on time. Life Cycle Engineering consists of multiple disciplines that support engineering, our program offices and our customers. Our Life Cycle Engineering disciplines participate in the total life cycle of our products from conception to deactivation. Our focus area is product support, including the following disciplines: Reliability System Safety and Supportability.

Job Summary:

Were an employee-focused team collaborating across departments, including Engineering, Environmental Health & Safety, Supply Chain, Operations, Test & Integration and Production.

As a Principal Reliability Engineer, youll support Raytheons programs by pursuing synergies between the technical disciplines. Your responsibilities will include creating the optimal design in terms of Performance, Reliability, Availability and Maintainability per dollar invested.

Youll also provide leadership in collaborations with Program Management and government approval authorities from program startup through production to demilitarization and disposal

What You Will Do:

Were looking for a Principal Reliability Engineer to join our team located in Huntsville, AL. McKinney, TX or Tucson, AZ.

Your overall responsibilities will Include:

  • Conducting Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) analyses, including Sneak Circuit Analyses.
  • Requirement Development/Assessments
  • Reliability Allocation, Predictions, Assessments
  • Performing Failure Modes Effects and Criticality Analyses (FMECA)
  • Interpreting data and analyzing results
  • Supporting Failure Review Boards (FRB)
  • Supporting the proposal process in developing Basis of Estimate (BOE) for reliability work
  • Other grade-consistent duties as assigned
  • Additional responsibilities will include:
    • Program-related work including participating in proposal writing and bid submissions
    • Mentoring junior engineers
    • Obtaining and maintaining Special Access Program clearance

Qualifications You Must Have:

  • Typically Requires: Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Math (STEM). Electrical Engineering degree preferred. Minimum 8 years of relevant Engineering experience. An advanced degree may account for additional years of experience as required for this position.
  • Experience with Reliability Engineering (including reliability analysis, failure investigations, and/or root cause/corrective action (RCCA))
  • Leadership experience
  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance is required. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance

Qualifications We Prefer:

  • Knowledge of FMECA (Failure Mode and Effects Analysis)
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of technical information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Functional knowledge of statistics or using statistical packages for data analysis (e.g. Excel)
  • Self-motivated and detail-oriented with the ability to develop solutions to technical problems in fast paced, deadline driven environments with constantly changing priorities
  • Electrical Engineering or Sneak Circuit Analysis experience
  • Active DoD Secret Clearance

The salary range for this role is 96,000 USD - 200,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidates work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
