Zimmerman Associates, Inc. (ZAI) is seeking to hire a Indexing Librarian in the Washington, D.C. area.

Major duties and responsibilities:


Index documents or other related knowledge assets using the autocategorization (AC) tool, the Document Management Facility (DMF), and the IMF's Enterprise Business Vocabularies (EBV).

Review, validate and update machine-generated terms for consistency and accuracy. Work as a member of the cross-department AC team to maintain and improve business logic for autocategorization.
Proactively provide feedback on the use of EBV to categorize, search, and retrieve IMF publications and records. Participate as a member of the EBV team to discuss governance issues and propose solutions for the same.
Support other AC related projects by performing quality control and validation.
Notify appropriate staff of problems with records in DMF. Notify appropriate staff of the need for new terminology and changes to the existing taxonomy.

Assist with the mapping of the EBV to external taxonomies (such as LCSH, JEL, Thema and BISAC) and maintain metadata information in the Fund's external publication management tool (such as Manage or similar applications).

Create Cataloging in Publication records (CIP) for the IMF external publications upon request and create name authority records for the IMF authors when needed.

Provide backup support for the library tasks as needed.

Skills Requirements

MLS or a similar degree required.
Experience indexing with controlled vocabularies and subject terms.
Ability to develop an understanding of subject matter in economics, finance, and international development.
Excellent interpersonal skills and able to work well with multiple teams.
Willingness to learn new technologies and skills.
Excellent writing skills.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to manage work independently and accurately with minimal mistakes.
