We are seeking a highly skilled Claims Adjuster to join our team in our NY office. This role involves processing claims related to general liability, third-party property damage, and third-party bodily injury, primarily focusing on New York Labor Law.

The key responsibilities of this position are:

  • Independently manage complex Construction Claims in New York City and the surrounding area with minimal supervision.
  • Thoroughly analyze claim documents, policies, client instructions, and other records to assess policy coverage.
  • Conduct prompt and detailed investigations into claims.
  • Interview relevant parties involved in the claims process.
  • Handle claims in legal proceedings.
  • Ensure timely case management and task completion for optimal financial outcomes and swift resolutions.
  • Accurately set claim reserves.
  • Coordinate expert resources to support claim resolution.
  • Generate reports for claim file documentation.
  • Implement innovative solutions for favorable financial results.
  • Negotiate claim settlements.
  • Manage incoming mail and prioritize workload efficiently.
  • Engage in phone calls and written correspondence with various parties.

Core qualifications and requirements for this role include:

  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or two or more industry certifications.
  • Minimum of three years' experience in processing claims, with a strong focus on claims under New York Labor Law.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to cultivate lasting relationships.
  • Demonstrated curiosity and a knack for working in a fast-paced setting.
  • Superior evaluation and strategic skills.
  • Essential claim negotiation abilities.
  • Customer-centric approach.
  • Capability to work autonomously and exhibit sound judgment.
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite and other business software.
  • Professional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Fluency in English (reading and writing).
