The Role

What You'll Be Doing
  • Lead competitive intelligence efforts in multiple therapeutic areas globally, ensuring essential competitive information is provided to functional leaders for strategic decision-making.
  • Conduct thorough competitive and market assessments to identify market dynamics, trends, and potential impacts on Moderna's pipeline, delivering insights to executive leaders and stakeholders.
  • Evaluate the reliability of competitive intelligence research findings while maintaining high standards of accuracy, relevance, and quality in all deliverables, effectively communicating the evidence level to stakeholders.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders across Commercial, Medical Affairs, and R&D to incorporate internal and external information, analytics, and data for added value.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors to ensure continuous and comprehensive market intelligence coverage.
  • Regularly present detailed analyses and summaries of results, interpret data, and offer recommendations to key stakeholders.
  • Maintain an in-depth understanding of Moderna's varied product offerings, competitive positioning, and the broader market dynamics shaping the industry's future.
What You'll Bring to the Table

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Science, or a related field.
  • 6+ years of experience in competitive intelligence, market research, or a related field within the pharmaceutical and/or biotechnology industry.
  • Proven track record of conducting market assessments and delivering strategic insights.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong presentation and communication abilities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS, or PhD) in Business, Marketing, Science, or a related field.
  • 8+ years of experience in competitive intelligence with a focus on multiple therapeutic areas.
  • Experience managing vendor relationships and cross-functional projects.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize complex information and influence decision-making at the executive level.
  • Familiarity with data analytics tools and methodologies.

This position is based at the Cambridge HQ with the option to work remotely up to 30% of the time. Candidates must be located in or willing to move to the greater Boston area. This role demands a high level of collaboration and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
