About Midlands Regional Center

Midlands Regional Center is a residential facility of the South Carolina Department of Disabilities and Special Needs located in Columbia, SC serving residents with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

Performs weekly inventories of household and personal care items in residential buildings and places appropriate orders from Prime Vendors contracts.

Manages stock levels of office supplies, paper, emergency supplies and non-contract personal care items. Orders goods such as office supplies on a continuing basis in order to maintain certain inventory levels. As supplies purchaser process various purchase transactions based on agency policies and procurement guidelines.

Provides supervision and leadership to Warehouse/Supply, Housekeeping, Food Services and Transportation departments. Responsible for the daily logs of the staff. Motivates the staff to be effective and efficient in all duties. Conducts employee performance reviews.

Manages Plant Operations stockroom. Provides support as needed for work orders, issues, and inventory maintenance.

Oversees all warehouse operations including coordinating Regional Center's supportive services, such as mail distribution, vendor supply order, reporting, etc. Responsible for distributing work and assigning jobs to the warehouse staff as needed.

Responsible for following all Agency policies and procedures and may be required to perform and/or participates in outcome activities and any other related duties as assigned by supervisor or Facility Administrator.

Minimum and Additional Requirements

A high school diploma and work experience directly related to the area of employment to include supervisory work experience. A bachelor's degree may be substituted for work experience.

Institutions of Higher Learning must be recognized by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation.

Preferred Qualifications

SC Drivers License, at least three years of experience in Warehousing or Supply, and one year of experience as a supervisor.

Knowledge of supply practices and procedures. Knowledge of inventory control practices and procedures. Knowledge of accounting and bookkeeping procedures applicable to property and inventory Ability to train subordinate employees. Ability to oversee the work of others. Ability to communicate effectively.

Immunization: If this position requires the applicant to work directly with DDSN consumers, a QuantiFERON TB Gold testing must be completed prior to beginning employment. All new employees who are healthcare providers are required to provide documentation of immunity or be immunized against measles, mumps, rubella, pertussis, Varicella and Hepatitis B prior to beginning employment.
