Summary

We are seeking Cost Accountant to join our successful and growing team in Dalton, Georgia.

In this position you will have the opportunity to assist the Plant Controlling team in the daily operations of the department.

The Cost Accountant will interface with accounting, manufacturing, and management personnel to provide accurate timely reporting and analysis of financial and operational information.

Additionally, the person in this role will become versed in process improvement initiatives and by using World Class Manufacturing (WCM) methodology.

This position reports to Plant Controller with strong possibilities to grow and evolve within the organization.

What this role is responsible for:

  • Assists in monthly closing, forecasting and annual budgeting process (20%)
  • Work with plant controller in maintaining standard cost system, including analysis of bills of material and routings for new products, cost rolls for all products, as well as periodic updates to material costs (15%)
  • Work with plant controller to analysis of material price, usage, and scrap (20%)
  • Responsible for personnel and OPC costs in the P&L for one of our plants and associated accounts in the Balance sheet (20%)
  • Support WCM Cost Deployment Pillar (10%)
  • Other projects assigned by Controller (15%)

Education & Experience:

  • Bachelor's/4-year college degree, B.S. or B.A. in Accounting or Finance required.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience required.
  • Manufacturing environment highly preferred.
  • Proficient the Microsoft Office Suite (specifically Excel) required.
  • Experience with SAP or other large-scale ERP highly preferred.
  • Strong customer orientation with excellent interpersonal skills
  • Ability to troubleshoot issues using root cause analysis.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask with excellent listening and communication skills.
  • Proactive approach in learning the business.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to interact with employees of all skill levels including shop floor, maintenance, & corporate level.
  • Strong team player.
