The External Relations Department of the GSB is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Operations Manager to join our team. This pivotal role is integral to the seamless execution of our alumni and donor engagement initiatives. As the Operations Manager, you will lead efforts to streamline processes, enhance operational efficiency, and ensure the highest standards of service and support are maintained. You will collaborate with various teams to optimize operational processes and workflows, manage comprehensive documentation, and leverage innovative solutions to foster and strengthen our relationships with alumni and donors.
This role will be responsible for overseeing daily operations and driving strategic projects. Your expertise in operations management, coupled with your proactive and detail-oriented approach, will be crucial in advancing our mission to develop principled, innovative leaders who make a significant impact globally. Your primary responsibilities* include:
  • Evaluate platforms, functions, and policies to identify issues and develop recommendations for solutions.Oversee the daily operations of the Operations and Strategy team, enhancing our service and support model within External Relations and across GSB.Manage the creation and maintenance of a documentation library for External Relations, including an annual review of documentation.Drive operational aspects of systems and platforms, including managing usage, licenses, renewals, and migration/wind down plans.Develop systems to provide greater visibility and transparency into operational processes.Project manage the budget process for External Relations under the direction of the Associate Dean of External Relations and Senior Directors.Explore and audit existing and new technologies for process improvement and goal tracking, including developing regular training programs.Partner with management and leadership on the relationship management of top-tier donors and volunteers, including CRM coordination and pipeline management for volunteer boards and councils.Serve as a liaison between alumni, staff, and other university departments to facilitate effective communication and collaboration.Oversee the operation and management of the Campaign Dashboard, partnering with the data and digital team to strengthen the distribution of email engagement metrics, web analytics, and other business insights.Collaborate with the data and digital team to manage projects aimed at improving data hygiene and management practices across External Relations.Potentially lead administrative staff and interns, providing guidance and support to achieve departmental objectives.
To be successful in this position, you will bring:
  • Bachelor's degree and five years of relevant experience, or combination of education and relevant experience.Demonstrated ability to establish priorities, manage shifting priorities, and handle numerous time-sensitive projects with multiple deadlines.Ability to accomplish goals working through formal and informal channels, with diplomacy and tactfulness.Demonstrated creativity, problem solving, critical analysis, initiative, judgment and decision-making skills.Demonstrated ability to develop and meet budget goals.Demonstrated solid planning and organizational skills.Demonstrated experience working independently and as part of a team.Excellent interpersonal, written and oral communication skills.Ability to direct the work of others, for jobs requiring supervision.
The expected pay range for this position is $95,000 to $148,000 per year.Stanford University provides pay ranges representing its good faith estimate of what the university reasonably expects to pay for a position.
