Job Summary:
The Program Director will provide day to day leadership and strategic direction to ensure Jaqui` Foundation programs and services meet "best practice" measures and operates in compliance with applicable California laws and regulations as it relates to Jaqui`s programs and the necessary supports for individuals with intellectual disabilities, behavioral challenges, mental health diagnoses, substance abuse problems and forensic involvement

Duties and Responsibilities:
Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned by management.

Ensures each participant in a Jaqui Program is engaged in a continuum of culturally relevant activities and services that corresponds to their dreams, wishes and desires.

In cooperation with Jaqui stakeholders establishes, refines, and implements the vision and strategy of the organization. Supports, trains and mentors' staff to focus on participant strengths maximizing their ability to have fun and thrive. Oversees program planning, development, and implementation.

Maintains sound human resource policies and practices (Oversees and manages retention, appraisal, and discharge of personnel) to support optimal staff performance.

Oversees comprehensive program evaluation to ensure meets its outcomes and Quality Management standards. Attends participant's ISP/IPP and Interdisciplinary (ID) Team Meetings as needed and requested by Regional Center Case Managers and others. Recruit, screen, hire and monitor Program Consultants. Review required paperwork such as Individual Service Plans (ISP's), consultant notes, staff's monthly and daily notes, etc.

Regularly assesses changes in the program and collaborations; oversees program changes and innovations as appropriate and in accordance with the strategy of the organization; develops and maintains a therapeutic, enjoyable environment for participants and staff; participates in the informal and formal Annual Quality Improvement Processes Ensures the rights of participants and staff are respected.

Develops, implements, and maintains program policies and procedures, ensuring that the program and facilities are in compliance with applicable sections of Title 17 California Code of Regulations and other regulatory obligations.

Collaborates with other Jaqui staff to development written curriculum for orientation, on the job training, in service training and continuing education.

Provide leadership of crisis situations including mobile support, training, debriefing and risk management. Mentor direct reports. Participates in the training of participants and staff. Supports the work of the Executive Director.

Education and Experience:
Minimum of 5 years prior experience in Human Services, or Special Education working with individuals with intellectual disabilities. Experience with Title 17 and Title 22 required. Bachelor's degree in human services, special education, or similar field desired.

Skills and Abilities:
Must have high energy, professionalism, and integrity. Must be sharp with the ability to quickly forge relationships in a multicultural and fast paced environment. Be proactive, flexible with a good handle on strategic thinking. Excellent written and oral communication skills that are effective with diverse stakeholders.

Proven track record in supervision, volunteer management and implementing non-aversive behavioral intervention programs that serve participants with developmental disabilities, mental health and substance abuse diagnoses and judicial involvement.

Political savvy, diplomacy, and negotiation skills.
